Last stop in SUMBA

es ging weiter nach WAINGAPU …und es wurde tatsaechlich einfach(er) im osten :) 

wir fanden eine nette unterkunft und verbrachten dort viel zeit. in die stadt marschierten wir immer nur fuer kurze trips – die hitze in WAINGAPU war schwer auszuhalten (und das im dezember ;) )

an einem tag machten wir uns aber dann doch zu fuss auf ins 2.5 km entfernte dorf PRAILIU. 

wir waren wirklich erleichtert als wir dort auf super nette menschen trafen ...vor allem nach dem hitzigen weg dorthin. der village chef umbu ndjurumanna ueberraschte uns mit gutem englisch (eine absolute ueberraschung in SUMBA! in einem dorf!!) und zeigte uns jeden winkel in seinem dorf.

die grossen graeber hatten wunderschoene details und die familien fotos in seinem haus waren mega interessant. wir erfuhren dabei auch von seiner australischen frau und lernten seinen vierjaehrigen sohn kennen. - er sitzt schuechtern in seinem kleinen auto 

die familienkonstellation erklaerte so einiges... 

wir hatten eine tolle zeit in PRAILIU und als wir dann auch noch zum mittagessen eingeladen wurden, erklaerten wir es zu unserem lieblingsdorf in SUMBA ...liebe geht durch den magen, jaja!  :) :) 

bevor wir uns verabschiedeten, schossen wir noch ein letztes foto vom weihnachtsbaum… nein, doch nicht… same same but different!

ENGLISH: 

we continued our journey and finally stopped in WAINGAPU …and it got indeed easy(ier) in the east :)

we found a nice accommodation and spent lots of time there. every now and then, we went into town for a short while – the heat in WAINGAPU was unbearable (yes, even in december ;) )

however, on one day we pulled ourselves together and walked 2.5 km to PRAILIU VILLAGE.

we were really relieved to find friendly villagers there …especially after our sweaty walk. the village chief umbu ndjurumanna surprised us with good english (an absolute surprise in SUMBA! in a village!!) and showed us every corner of the village. 

the big megalithic tombs had beautiful carvings and the family photos inside the chief’s house were really interesting. he also told us about his australian wife and we got to know is four year old son. – you can find him in the little car together with his friends

the family constellation explained a lot…

we had a fantastic time with the people in the village and when they invited us for lunch we declared PRAILIU to be our favourite village in SUMBA …the way to a man's and woman‘s heart goes through the stomach, yes! :) :)

before leaving we took a last photo of their christmas tree …no, not quite… same same but different!
